Chapter 6

December 22, 2008

Tina was walking. Just walking. She was still going over so many things in her mind. It was almost to much for her to think about all at one time. She was somewhat worried actually, since she hadn’t seen any of the monsters for a few hours. But while thinking of these things, she almost missed what was could have happened to here.

About five of them came barreling out from behind a group of shrubs and attacked. Tina heard them at the last second. She drove her knee into the ribcage of one, and made it stumble back. She was ready to kill, but then noticed something about them. They had a green and blue tint of color to them.

She then realized that these were a more advanced version of the zombies. Only compatible with certain blood types. She had seen this only one other time, when an experimental animal had been infected with it. These had the same looks as regular zombies, but were much deadlier. They could run, scream to attract more zombies, and kill with long deadly claws. They could also attack as a well organized group, and actually kill in a swift group motion.

One of them started at Tina. She drew her knife, and went after it. She was then struck down by a second one. It tried to claw at her face, but she grabbed the hand and cut it off with the knife. She then pushed it off, got up, and shoved the knife into it’s temple. As soon as she did that she was clawed.

She started to panic. Then realized that the virus couldn’t be contracted by getting clawed. It died in the claws. “Thank fucking God,” she thought. She was poised to kill the rest of them. One lunged at her, and she shattered its’ knee with her boot. She then stabbed it in the chest cavity, and killed it by stabbing it through the chin to the brain.

Only three more to go. Only she was starting to fell weak. It was 5:00 pm. She hadn’t eaten since breakfast. The greatest time to fell hunger, great. She just held it off though. Two attacked at the same time. She dodged them both, took their heads, and litteraly smashed them together. The heads exploded in a torrent of blood and brains.

The last one stared at her for a short time. It then let out a blood curdling scream. Tina then started to run. She knew she was fucked if she stayed where they were. She ran as fast as she could. All the time, she could hear them coming after her. She knew that there was a way for her to get rid of these bastards though.

As she was running, see could see them running at her. Running. She started to run faster. She blocked out the hunger, the sadness, the pain, the anger, and just ran. She pushed any of them that came across her path out of her way. She wasn’t about to become dinner for them.

Soon she came to the prison on the edge of the town. What was so special about this bridge? It was on a secluded island off the mainland. It was connected by a mechanical bridge that was only used to transport prisoners. The control box was on the other side, and there weren’t any zombies that she could see from there.

So she started to run across to the other side. As she was running, she could see them pouring out of the woods to come and eat her. She ran as fast as she possibly could. She got to the other side, and quickly flipped the switch to get the bridge up.

It was slow, but only a couple got on the other side. She quickly killed them with her knife. A quick survey of the outside showed her that there weren’t any zombies out there. She started to eat a snack that she had prepared before the day started. She got done eating it, went to go check the inside, and was met with a shovel to the face.

Chapter 5

December 14, 2008

Dave was close now. His mother’s house could be seen in the distance, and it didn’t look like there were any of those zombies around. So Dave approached the house and parked in the front yard. As he approached the front door, he had a feeling he was being followed. He turned around and saw the creatures approaching. He quickly screamed, “SHIT!” and ran inside. When he stepped inside, he saw blood.

Dave started to panic. He went into his mom’s bedroom and saw what he had been dreading. The mutilated and eaten bodies of his mother and family were on the floor. Dave knelt down beside them, sobbing. Dave took his gun out, and shot a bullet into each of their heads, just to make sure they didn’t become those creatures. Dave stayed there for a little longer, contemplating if he should end his own life.

Dave decided that he would instead eradicate these bastards. Not for him, or his friends, but his family. They had killed his family, so he would kill them. After saying a few words for them, Dave lit the house on fire, just in case the bullets didn’t work.

Dave got back into the car, but not before wasting some of the creatures surrounding the house. He drove away, thinking about what he would do next. After some planning, he decided that he would try the small grocery store down the road. It was small, so it was all right for hiding in. He would need a place to baracade himself until this passed.

He drove to the store, and almost shit himself. There were hundreds of zombies surrounding the store, trying to get inside. There must already be survivors in there, so he decided he would floor it to the store. He plowed through the groups of zombies. Running them over and shooting at them from the car. He got close to the door and bailed out of his car.

He ran to the door shooting the zombies on his way. One of the people inside locked the door. Dave went over and screamed, “LET ME IN!” The man inside shook his head and said, “How do we know your not infected?” Dave took his shirt off and turned so the man could see, and pointed to his legs to indicate that there were no bites on him. The man looked, and then reluctantly opened the door. Dave stepped in, turned to the man, and punched him. Dave said, “Don’t EVER do that again.”

Chapter 4

October 3, 2008

Tina drove down the highway for about an hour. All she saw were zombies feeding on corpses, and aimlessly wandering around. She didn’t understand how the city had been taken over this quickly. It seemed that it had taken only a matter of hours for it to get infected to mass preportions like this.  lucky for Tina, she had enough ammo to stop a small army of these things, if fate called for it. So she had no worries.

But what she was worried about, was finding survivors. the more survivors to fight these things, the better. Strength in numbers. Only, finding these survivors was the hard part. Everyone was dead or dead-ish. This was going to be a bit of a chore, finding these survivors. Assuming there were any.

A while later, her car stopped moving. She got pissed. She had forgotten to fill up the gas tank the day before, and now she was paying for it. So after about five minutes of cussing at her car for sucking so much, she got out of the car and started to search on foot. She put as many clips of ammo in her pockets as she could, and continued on her way.

On her way, she saw several zombies, but avoided them. If she fired off a shot, more of them would hear it, and close in on her position. Those things were tougher than they looked. It only took one of them to kill hundreds. So she had to stay low and avoid them if she wanted to survive.

But she couldn’t avoid them forever, as she soon found out. There was one closing in on her position, and she was forced to fire a shot at it. The bullet struck it in the head, splattering decomposed matter everywhere. The zombie dropped dead. She started to walk again, but heard more zombies coming from out of the nearby woods.

And when she saw them, she thought, “Oh shit.” There were about Thirty six of them. Probably more. And the shitty part was, they were coming from all directions. Tina knew that she couldn’t get out of this one without using her gun, so she got ready for the incoming horde.

They moved closer, hungering for flesh. She studied every grotesque feature on them. She was ready to kick some ass. She fired off some shots at them, and killed about two fo them. She turned around and fired a couple of more shots at the zombies. Two more of them dropped dead. She kept fireing shots into the crowd of zombies, killing them one by one.

They started to get closer. Tina kept firing. Then she put the gun back in her pocket and took the kinfe off of her ankle strap. She always kept it with her, as she always recieved death threats from people who hated her. There were ten zombies left. She ran up to one and shoved the knife into it’s temple, instantly killing it.

She went over to a couple more, and snapped the neck of one of them. She then stabbed the knife into the others head. Seven more to go. She started to kill them. Her years of military experience made this easy. They couldn’t touch her. She felt invincible. But she knew that if she got too cocky, she would be killed.

With one more to go, she turned around, and got pounced on by the zombie. The zombie immedeatly made an attempt for her neck. She tried to fight it off, but it was to powerful. One of the things that the virus did, is bring dead cells in the human body back to life, makeing a living corpse twice as strong. She remembered her gun. She took it out of her pocket, and quickly fired a shot into the zomibes head. It rolled off of her dead. She was relieved about that. So after that ordeal, she walked off before she had to fight more.

Chapter 3

October 2, 2008

Dave was confused. Yesterday, the city had been a peacful place not full of carnavorous creatures. Now he had to fight for every step. He decided he should start running to find shelter, but after a mile, thought differently. He would need all the energy he could get. So he wandered around for a little bit in these woods he now walked through.

As he was walking, his mind clicked into something that he hadn’t thought of until now. His family. His wife and son were at his moms house. His mom lived in the city too, so they had probably gotten some of what had happened here too. He started to panic. Had the monsters consumed his family? Or worse, were they part of the undead army now?

He pushed those thoughts out of his mind. He would go to his mom’s house and see if they were ok. As he started to make his way back towards the highway, he came across a zombie that was missing both of it’s legs and had a gun next to it. So Dave went over to it, and crushed it’s head with his boot. He had anger towards these bastards, and would do everything in his power to kill them.

He picked up the gun and started for the highway once again. He would try to find a working car and get there faster. But once he got there, that was a bit easier said than done. All of the cars were either out of gas, had no keys, or had crashed into something else. But as he looked, he found one that had gas and keys in the ignition.

But the family of that vehicle was still in there. Only in zombie form. The whole family writhed in there, trying to get out and attack Dave. He looked in horror at the family. Bite marks everywhere, A severed corotid artery, and blood all over the back seat. The children were missing limbs. Dave assumed that the parents had turned first, and then killed the children.

Dave started to cry for them. Nobody deserved this. So he walked away to find a different car. Some time later, he did, and it was zombie free. Dave was happy to see that the door was unlocked, and started to get in. But as he opened the door, he heard footsteps behind him.

He turned around and saw five zombies approach him. Dave took his gun that he found an fired a bullet into the skull of one of them. The thing immeadiatly dropped dead. Dave went to fire off another round, but there was no ammo left. He cursed and threw the gun at a zombie. So dave took a metal bar off the ground and started to kill.

He killed 3 of the remaining zombies with the bar, but was attacked from behind by the last one. They fell to the ground, and Dave turned around to gaurd from being bit by the thing. The zombie scratched him, but wasn’t able to bite him. Dave took the zombies head, and turned it around. The zombie rolled off of him, dead. So with that, he took the car, and headed to his mother’s house.

Chapter 2

September 17, 2008

Tina was making breakfast when it all started. She woke up early so she could have something decent to eat before she went to the basic military training camp. She was a drill instructor. She changed wimps into real men and women. She slept peacfuly at night knowing that she was training the future soldiers of America.

The pancakes were a nice meal. She hadn’t had them in a while. So she was really looking forward to it. They were her grandmas old recipe. Her grandma had always made the best pancakes. Always adding a little vanilla to them. She stayed at the table for a while eating, savoring each bite. But as she was loading her dishwasher, that’s when it started.

The creatures busted down her door. She had seen these things in a testing facility before, and knew what they were capable of. She opened one of the countertop drawers and pulled out her pistol. She always kept guns around the house. Where she lived, people needed guns all over the house. The gun already had ammo loaded into it, so she didn’t need to worry about finding ammo for her gun.

There were 10 of them. One was enough to overpower even the strongest of people, so she knew she had her work cut out for her trying to destroy these things. She fired off a shot and blew a clean hole through a zombies head. That was the only way to kill them, the head. Somehow they’re brains still worked, while nothing else did. They just gorged on humans, with their endless hunger. But she kept firing.

They started getting closer. There were more coming through the door, and she knew she wouldn’t last to long if she stayed there. So she made her way to her garage. She picked up the keys off the counter, and ran. But as she ran, she was confronted by another one. It knocked her to the ground, and she struggled to keep it away from her neck. It was getting closer, and so was the other mass of zombies.

So she made a desperate move. She snapped the creatures neck. It made a sickening snapping sound as the creature died. She dumped it off of her body and fired a few more shots into the mass of creatures getting closer. She opened the connecting door to her garage, and darted into her car. She started the car, and busted out of the garage door without opening it. She sped down the highway, and started looking for survivors.

The takeover

September 16, 2008

This is a zombie story I’m doing. The chapters are short right now. But I will make them longer. Leave feedback, on how it could be better, or how good it his.

Chapter 1
The alarm woke me, Dave, up at 6:00 in the morning. I didn’t want to get up, because I didn’t like my job at home depot. Another boring day of stocking the shelves and pointing the way for the unwary customer. But I gathered my pride and told myself that someday, something different would happen.
Little did I know, this was the day.
I did my usual routine. Shower, breakfast, brushing teeth, getting dressed, and watching the news before I went to work. But at around 7:10, I was aware of a scraping and moaning at my door. I peeked outside of my window, and saw what looked like a homeless guy.
I opened my door prepared to yell at him to go get a job and a life. But as soon as I opened the door, he lunged at me and tried to bite me. I instinctively dodged the lunge, and went to throw him out of my house. But when I walked over, I saw that something was wrong with him.
He turned and started limping at me. That’s when I realized that he wasn’t normal. His facial features had been distorted. It almost looked like his face had been eaten.
I pushed myself away from the cannibalistic monster, and darted out my door to my car. When I stepped outside though, I saw that there were more creatures just like him. And they were all coming for me.
Luckily I always pick up my car keys when I get dressed in the morning. I ran to my car, punching any creatures in my way, and quickly unlocked my door, got in, started up the car, and drove away. I could feel the jolts as I ran over these creatures, but I didn’t pay attention to that. I just got out as fast as I could.
I drove away at dangerous speeds. I saw burning cars and hundreds of the creatures. I was struck with a panic there and then. Were my friends allright. After that thought popped up in my head, I go my cell phone of my car’s dashboard and started to dial number.I got a busy dial tone on all of them. I suppose that the signal was gone because of this apocolypse. I cursed and threw my phone on the ground. I then hit another one of the creatures, and cursed again.
I was then overcome with adrenaline to just keep going and going. I didn’t see that I was going straight for a car. Not until the last possible second in time. I crashed into the overturned car, and banged my head against the steering wheel. I was dazed, but realized I had to get out before I was consumed.
I opened the door to my car, and limped out. I started to limp away, avoiding the incoming creatures. I then started to look for shelter. I knew I would be needing it, because I knew this wasn’t going to end soon.
